I never knew how simple making apple chips could be! Seriously you guys … just TWO ingredients! You can find chips pretty much anywhere you go, but I never thought I could make such a thin and crispy delight that won’t harm your body. I am a sucker for chips. I LOVE munching on them when I am working, writing, cooking, and of course … watching television.

My son Jet is now picking up this habit. There are brands out there that are marketed as healthy chips which in fact some I have tried are good. However, I questioned why not make them myself. I did not think it was going to be such a simple task!
These turned out crispy, light, and tasteful just as any other chip. Nice thing about these though is that they actually taste like the name. When you bite into them they taste just like an apple would (duh). I thought they would not turn out well because they are baked and not fried in oil, but I was pleasantly (very pleasantly) surprised.
I hope you enjoy this easy recipe as I munch away with these! Let me know how you like them 😊
Ingredients:
-2 Apples (depending on the type and size; 2 apples made 2 sheet pans); cored if you prefer
-Cinnamon (this is the organic raw cinnamon I use)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 225 degrees F.
- Cut apple into thin slices (1/8 in.) on a mandoline.
- Sprinkle cinnamon over apple slices in a mixing bowl.
- Lay parchment paper on your baking sheet and arrange the apple slices on the sheet side by side. No slices on top of the other.
- Bake the apple slices for 1 hour, flip the slices over and bake for another hour.
- Make sure to cool them down, allow them to crisp, then serve and enjoy!
Note: The chips will not feel crispy until they are completely cooled down.
