I never gave much thought to cleaning products. I figured they are safe and work if they are selling them in stores, right?
Stinks to say, but I didn’t even research and think about it when I had Jet.
I started really thinking of the products I was using when Jet started crawling. I had this large space in my living room with filled with padding when I started thinking … how am I going to clean this?
Kids make a mess, kids drop and eat things from the floor ALL of the time, so I wanted to clean his floor with something that I know is clean, and non-toxic. Since he was going to spend so much time on and essentially using as a plate 😊 (would not recommend just putting a meal on the floor but at least when they are picking food from the ground, you won’t freak out) I knew I had to do some research.
At first, I bought an empty spray bottle and filled it with water and white vinegar, sometimes I would put lemon juice too. That worked for a while. But as he grew, he made more mess which means more dirt and grime to clean.

I FINALLY looked into Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day products. I have seen them before in stores, I have seen others use them, but it never sparked my interest because I wasn’t in need of them.
I was grocery shopping one day and decided I wanted a stronger cleaner. I gave the Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Multi-Surface Everyday Cleaner in Lavender a try.
I was skeptical. I was thinking it was not going to be strong enough or I am going to have to wipe multiple times. Boy was I wrong.
I was immediately impressed. I sprayed my kitchen counter and wiped it with one of my microfiber towels and it glided so well. I gently moved my hand around my counter, and it was taking off the mess in one wipe! Plus it smells sooo good!
I never experienced that before. I am not exaggerating. All other cleaners I have used I would wipe multiple times and it wouldn’t feel smooth, or I had to even use my nails to really get everything out.
I also use Mrs. Meyer’s dish soap and hand soap in Lavender. If you have given it a try or have other non-toxic cleaning products you use, and love let me know in the comments below. I would love to try new ones out!
